Journal Club Mesch

A health, medicine, and life science discussion group

Homepage

The Journal Club Mesch (JCM) is a kind of peer learning group of researchers from different departments of Maastricht University Medical Centre: primary care, epidemiology, statistics, nursing science, and human biology. The group meets approximately every two weeks to critically appraise important or controversial interdisciplinary research papers. This approach has the advantage that members learn important aspects of research not only from their own field but also aspects that they would otherwise be less likely to get involved with.

JCM meetings are held in the evening and start with a delicious dinner served with a tasty wine. Then, a scientific topic is discussed, usually on the basis of one or two articles. Since the beginning in 2006, members of the JCM have discussed a large variety of topics and enjoyed many nice dinners. On this website, you will find information on previously discussed research topics and dinners that have been served. But there is a lot more to find…
